Frank R. Close founded a lumber yard in Sutter, California, in 1926. By 1937, the business had expanded by acquiring Corning Lumber in Corning, CA. Today, Close Lumber has grown to include full-service hardware and lumber yards in Williams, Willows, Orland, Sutter, and Corning, with many locations also offering tool and party supply rentals. The company further expanded with a store in Yuba City that features a door shop, paint, and hardware.
In 2017, Close Lumber launched an online store, making some of its products available for nationwide purchase. Since its inception, Close Lumber has remained committed to delivering excellent customer service, a wide assortment of products, and high quality, reflecting the vision that began with Frank R. Close in 1926.
