The Cookie Tree, Inc., located in Yuba City, California. Established in December 1981 by two friends inspired by their visits to San Francisco and other cities, our journey began with the simple idea that we could create cookies as good, if not better, than those we had tasted. With a modest budget, we invested in used equipment—one oven, one pastry case, a used cash register—and found a cozy spot on Plumas Street to open our gourmet cookie bakery. With no funds for advertising, we relied solely on the exceptional quality of our products and our dedication to customer service to build our business. Our gamble paid off, and we quickly found success.
Nearly 40 years later, under the leadership of owner and company matriarch Sue Smith, The Cookie Tree has flourished. Now employing over 20 people, our offerings have grown beyond cookies to include gourmet bars, breakfast pastries, cupcakes, cheesecakes, and more.
Despite our expansion and daily innovations, the heart of our business remains unchanged: our commitment to baking fresh, high-quality cookies daily, using only the finest ingredients and adhering to uncompromising baking standards. This dedication ensures that The Cookie Tree will continue to delight customers for generations to come.
