Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus will offer a free, two-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Aviation Maintenance.

Scheduled to run from Feb. 26 to Mar 11, 2018, the open-to-all course covers aircraft maintenance, inspections and how to effectively manage global challenges facing the industry. Participants will learn about the different types of maintenance and inspection classes, as well as how to integrate safety into daily operations, while also maintaining efficiency.

The instructors for the class include full-time Embry-Riddle faculty members and experts from the aviation industry.

Details
Upon successful completion of all components of the course, you should be able to:
  • Distinguish between predictive and reactive maintenance.
  • Distinguish between the different inspection classes that require maintenance.
  • Identify the major aircraft systems that require maintenance.
  • Explain the requirements and methods for integrating safety into an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Discuss the role of a maintenance manager.
  • Identify methods for balancing safety with efficiency in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Identify the challenges within the global aviation maintenance environment.
  • Integrate aviation maintenance within a global business environment.
