The Empire Mine in Grass Valley consists of 846 acres and 14 miles of trails. This hike will include nature journaling with art/history/science instruction. We plan on hiking the moderate, Upper and Lower Union, and Indian Ridge Loop for 3.8 miles. A visitor center, gift shop, and guided tours are available for any who want to extend the day for a few more hours.

We will have the info session on  Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 4-5 pm.

Plan to meet at the Yuba Sutter Arts building, 624 E St., Marysville, to pick up supplies and  organize carpools. We will leave at 8:30 to reach the visitor center at the park by 9:30. Please dress for the weather and bring a sack lunch.

This event will be held rain or shine. If it rains, we will shorten the hike and explore the indoor areas of the park.
