This is a nationwide event that local high school students participate in. Students choose a poem from a list of 1,000 titles, memorize them, and then present them to the public. Yuba County will compete at 11am and Sutter County will compete at 2pm. The winner from each county moves on to the California State Poetry Out Loud competition and, if successful, they will receive a trip to Washington DC.  Seating is first come, first served. Second competition date added, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 6pm for both counties. Winners will be notified via email and announced on social media.
