Hello Farmers & Friends,
We at Yuba Environmental Science Charter Academy and the Food & Water Festival are very excited to invite you to our YES Community Farmer Appreciation Dinner!
This year, Yes Charter Academy received a USDA SCALES (Supporting Community Agriculture & Education Systems) grant which has afforded us the ability to grow our already flourishing garden program and, to hire on a Project Based Learning Health Educator & Facilitator. Some of our goals with this grant are to help bridge the gap between what kids see growing in our garden and what they see served on their plates. We will also be continuing to source more local produce from our local farmers and are working hard to create a local food hub right here at YES. Along the way we will also be taking time to celebrate and honor some of our local heroes.
This month, we want to shine a light on the hard working folks who grow the food that feeds our community. Thanks to our local farmers we are able to offer our children organic/ethically grown, nutrient dense food, straight from the source.
We would like to invite YOU help us in honoring the hard work of our local farmers with a meal prepared with local ingredients and the helping hands of the kids here at YES, as a way to say THANK YOU!
This dinner will be served at YES Charter Academy following the festivities of the Food & Water Festival, at 6:30pm. Tickets are $45 per place setting and include a gourmet meal, prepared with the help of renowned chef, Paul Ladeira, along with locally made wine by Grant & Marie Winery.
We look forward to seeing you there!
