Yuba-Sutter Community, CA: Veterans Day commemorates the time and day at which the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended: the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. President Woodrow Wilson first proclaimed Armistice Day on November 11, 1919. Hence, every November 11th at 11:00 am marks the official Yuba-Sutter Veterans Day Parade commencement, rain or shine. This year marks the 22nd annual event sponsored by the American Legion Post 807. The parade route follows D Street in Historic Downtown Marysville.
This year's parade theme is Supporting Our Troops, Past, Present, and Future. The Grand Marshal for the parade will be the Yuba-County Veteran's Service Officer, Mr. Marvin King. Mr. King is being recognized and honored for his 20+ years of service to the county and for assisting countless veterans and their families throughout his tenure. Finally, we are extremely excited to announce that there will be a T-38 Flyover from the 9th Reconnaissance Wing, Beale Air Force Base, during the opening ceremonies of the parade.
