Description:
This is one of California's premier waterfowl refuges, consisting of nearly 11,000 acres of seasonal marsh, permanent ponds, and uplands in the heart of the Sacramento Valley!  Managed mainly for migratory waterfowl (numbering in the hundreds of thousands), the refuge also attracts wildlife.  We'll begin at the Refuge Visitor Center, where we can enjoy the wildlife exhibit, bookstore, and Discovery Room.  Then, we'll explore the six-mile auto tour, viewing platform, and short walking trail. This is a level 2 difficulty rating. (birding by car and/or easy walking).

Bring a lunch, snacks, and water to fuel you through the trip!  You may want to bring binoculars. A sack lunch can be ordered for $15 at the end of your registration, or you are welcome to bring your own.

Meet at Swan Central and car pool to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge in Willows, CA.  Duration of the tour is 5.5 hours, driving each way is 45 miles.
