Description:
This will be an interactive session that combines lecture with hands on activities designed to help individuals connect cognitively and emotionally with the content. The trainer specializes in a humanistic approach to teaching unconscious bias that allows participants to explore in a learning environment that fosters self-discovery rather than defensiveness. We will define unconscious bias and discuss the neuroscience related to it. We will look at the many ways it manifests from selection bias, to value attribution to group think. Finally, we will focus on strategies for mitigating deeply ingrained stereotyping both at the individual and institutional levels.
