Why the Chamber Matters
The Chamber believes that the health of our business community and the health of the Yuba-Sutter community are inextricably linked.
We help the business community thrive and prosper, by being a CATALYST for business growth, a CONVENER of leaders and influencers, and a CHAMPION for a stronger Yuba-Sutter. Achieving this purpose is through valuable business services, in-depth and relevant connections, business learning opportunities, and influence on economic and public policies.
As a small business owner myself, I understand the challenges that businesses sometime face and having a go-to organization for business support and promotion is invaluable.
Being active in the Chamber of Commerce is an effective business strategy. It communicates to consumers that a company uses good business practices, is reputable, cares about its consumers, and is involved in its community.
National research shows that:
- When a small business is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, consumers are 49% more likely to think favorably of it and 80% more likely to purchase goods or services from them.
- If a company shows to be highly involved in its local Chamber, consumers are 10% more likely to think that its products or services stack up better against its competition.
- When a company is highly involved with their local Chamber of Commerce, the consumer infers that the company is trustworthy and cares about their customers.
As members, some benefits are direct, such as referrals, training opportunities, creditability, relationships, and visibility, all through programs the Chamber has to offer. Still, other benefits are indirect, such as the advocacy work done by our government affairs committee.
Whether you have time to be an active, regular participant or if you never leave work, you can find real, bottom-line value in your Chamber membership.
