Hello Members,
It's been 11 days since the "shelter in place" directive was set by the counties of Yuba and Sutter, and many of us are working to maintain some normalcy in our lives in this very fluid and unpredictable time. The Chamber continues to stay on top of the enormous amount of information that is sent to us daily. As of yesterday, we have ten confirmed cases of Covid-19 (news from the County of Sutter of Emergency Management). And, according to Yuba-Sutter Public Health Department, as of yesterday, 348 tests have been administered, with 215 results received and 133 pending.
We know there is a lot of fear and uncertainty about our jobs, businesses, and staying healthy. The extraordinary amount of courage, positivity, and hope demonstrated by many is encouraging. I have conversations with business owners and leaders in the community, and I continue to be impressed with the level of creativity and innovation in response to this new way of life.
There is a world beyond this where hugs come back. Where we can go to our favorite restaurant without sitting 6 feet away from someone, and we can attend events that aren't always hosted by zoom. We've just got to get there from here, and we will. We are strong and resilient; we'll do this together.
