Presented by the Marysville Business Alliance (MBA), in partnership with The City of Marysville, Yuba-Sutter Lodging Association, Sapphire Marketing Group, The Yuba-Sutter Chamber of Commerce & Results Radio.
A Little More About The Marysville Business Alliance (MBA) A group of Marysville merchants and business owners, with the support from Yuba County and The City of Marysville City Councilmembers along with the Chamber, have come together to form a Marysville Business Alliance which will be an arm of the Chamber.
The MBA’s mission is to revitalize the area through community engagement and create a unified voice to represent the business community at a City and County level and set the direction and vision for the future, incorporating the deep history of the area through events, music, arts, and culture.
This is a grass-roots effort backed by passion of enlivening Marysville and bringing it back to its full potential. We are excited and just now hitting the ground running! All Marysville businesses are welcome to join this fantastic group. We would love your input and participation!
If you are a Marysville business owner who would like to know more about how to be involved, or help with planning for the Cowboy Christmas, please contact Courtney directly at cfinstad@yubasutterchamber.com.
Why Shop Small?
Many small businesses were hit exceptionally hard because of their lack of e-commerce options. While big box stores gobbled up the lion’s share of online orders (Walmart’s online orders increased by 79% in the 3rd quarter of 2020 alone), many small businesses struggled to launch an online component, much less market that one was available. It was a hard learned lesson and one many simply weren’t prepared for.
When we talk about shopping small or shopping local, we always mention how the money stays in town. But let’s break that down a bit…..
According to Fundera, “small businesses generate $68 of local economic return for every $100 spent with them.” On the other hand, it’s estimated that for every $100 spent at a large business, only $43 stays in the community, according to the Civic Economics Study in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We enjoyed a great Lunch Mob at Sutter Buttes Brewing last month. If you haven't tried them yet, you must!
Sutter Buttes Brewing Rooted in a town of agriculture and industry, they pride themsleves on releasing beers about the areas heritage and diverse history. Their signature Water Tower IPA is a testament to the founding days of our little city and is a beacon to the remodeled downtown shopping district of Yuba City.

It is a proud day in the Chamber family when one of our very own receives a 2021 Congressman Garamendi’s Women of the Year Awards. Big congratulations to Nicole Dee Rubio! Nicole was recognized not only for her strong advocacy for the business community but also for her venture into founding Rolling Relief a non profit dedicated to helping families of premature or critically ill infants requiring treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Their goal is to provide a resting place, conveniently located on hospital grounds for the parents of the infant. Way to go Nicole!!
