The Theater Art Gallery OCTOBER Reception/Show

In October The Theater Art Gallery is pleased to display bold, vibrant architectural paintings by local artist PAMELA NOWAK. Also on exhibit will be work by the gallery’s resident artists Rosalynd Bliss, D.Ellen Day, Luisa Leger, Paul Spoto, and Janet Todd. The Artist Reception is Thursday, October 3, from 5 - 7 pm. This event is free with complimentary refreshments. The art show and sale continues through October 31. Come and chat with the artists as you enjoy the artwork they created. The reception coincides with the Downtown Business Association’s First Thursday Stroll. The gallery is located next to the Sutter Theater at 756 Plumas Street, downtown Yuba City. Hours: Thurs - Sat, 12 to 5 pm. Wed by appointment. Call 908-5704 or 329-1733. Visit us at https://www.suttertheater.org/the-theater-gallery/ or on Facebook.

Since childhood PAMELA NOWAK has been expressing herself through art. She talks with her hands, draws out her ideas, plays with color, spilling her emotions onto canvas. She began her artistic journey by showing the beauty of nature in watercolors of flowers, trees, and beaches. Color pencil renderings of still life and her cats were an obsession. Her mother had a very strong artistic influence on her and after she passed away, Pam decided to travel to Europe for inspiration. Her current series of paintings reflect the architecture of various cities in Italy, France, and Germany. More interested in the use of texture, color, and shape than realistic imagery, Pam aims to portray the crowded feeling of cities with overlapping, jumbled, angular shapes. Her use of thick, bold, bright colors makes them come alive. Pam has been teaching art classes at Yuba City High School for many years and is also the Art Club Advisor. Come and enjoy her intriguing monthlong exhibit!

The Theater Art Gallery is open every week, Thursday through Saturday, from noon to 5:00 pm, and Wednesday by appointment. Call 908-5704 or 329-1733. Proceeds from The Theater Art Gallery benefit the Sutter Performing Arts Association’s effort to renovate the Sutter Theater, turning it into a viable community center.  For more information, please visit our website at:  https://www.suttertheater.org/the-theater-gallery/, or visit us on Facebook.
