FAMILY DINING • COFFEE SHOP • PIZZERIA • BAR & GRILL • WATERING HOLE • CHOPHOUSE
Locally owned and operated, Dancing Tomato Caffé is the perfect blend of good eats, community spirit, and a comfortable atmosphere. The Katz family has hand-crafted this unique restaurant, conveniently located on the corner of California Highway 20 and Walton Avenue in Yuba City, California.
“Our caffé menu is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (dine in or take out) every day of the week. We also offer catering for events both large and small. Ask about our Brick Wall Pizza oven, a mobile pizzeria that bakes up homemade wood-fired pizza; always a crowd pleaser. The Brick Wall full bar is a favorite hangout for cocktails, beer, and your favorite wine.”?
Our Story
We are Kevin and Shar Katz, and we have been serving up California cuisine and traditional Italian fare at the Dancing Tomato Caffé in Yuba City since 2004. When we opened the doors, we had one small child with another on the way. The caffé and our family have grown up together over the years.
You might say that great food served in a welcoming atmosphere is a family tradition. Way back in 1965, Kevin’s parents opened the Italian Cottage in Chico, and the family later added Caffé Italia in Davis.
With a dream of opening a family-friendly restaurant to call our own, we began searching for the perfect location to make our dream come true. Inspired one summer day by the image of tomatoes bouncing in a truck heading in from a local field, the name for the “Dancing Tomato Caffé” was born. Now we are passing our family’s legacy on to our children, who can often be found taking orders and making change when we take out our wood-fired mobile pizza oven to community events.
