9/18/2024 | Join us for an amazing evening featuring 4 courses from our culinary team paired with selections from the Barrell Bourbon portfolio. Barrell Craft Spirits blends exceptional bourbons out of ingredients sourced from all around the world. Our extensive stocks of high-quality casks mean we can craft extraordinary blends that maximize the nuances of each ingredient, yet always add up to more than the sum of their parts. We’re progressive in our ideas about blending, but traditionalists when it comes to the identity of bourbon. We never add any coloring, flavoring, or water. Instead, we release all of our limited-edition bourbons totally pure, without chill filtration and at barrel strength to replicate the incredible experience of drinking directly from the cask. Each batch contains a range of ages and styles to add layers of complexity. The age statement on the front of the bottle always refers to the youngest barrel in the batch. We also tell you everything we can about the provenance of the contents—barring, of course, those few secrets our suppliers make us swear to keep. We will be serving a set menu, so if you have any dietary restrictions please be sure to inform us in advance so that we can make an accommodation. more info... |

9/19/2024 | The Temptations, often referred to as American Music Royalty, are world-renowned superstars of entertainment, revered for their phenomenal catalog of music and prolific career. The group are celebrating their 60th Anniversary through 2022. To mark this milestone, The Temptations released a brand-new album, Temptations 60, with nearly all-original songs in January of 2022 and, are touring in the U.S, as well as abroad to the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, fall of 2022. Dr. Otis Williams, the sole surviving, original member of The Temptations, turned 80 on October 30th of 2021. Ranked #1 in Billboard magazine’s most recent list of the “Greatest R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of All Time,” The Temptations also appear in the magazine’s 125th Anniversary list of the “125 Greatest of All Time Artists.” In addition, Rolling Stone magazine named the group among the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time.” In September of 2020, the editors of Rolling Stone magazine commented that The Temptations are “Indisputably the greatest black vocal group of the Modern Era…,” and listed the group’s Anthology album among the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” The Anthology album has appeared in all three of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums’ lists. The Four Tops started their musical career as the Four Aims at a house party in Detroit in 1954. Members included Levi Stubbs, Abdul “Duke” Fakir, Renaldo “Obie” Benson and Lawrence Payton. They changed the group’s name to The Four Tops to avoid confusion with a popular group of the day, the Ames Brothers. A smooth lounge act, the Tops stuck to standards and ballads and recorded for at least four other record companies before Berry Gordy signed them to Motown in 1964. Their breakthrough hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving,” was produced by Holland-Dozier-Holland in 1964, and was followed by greater success with “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” in 1965, the Tops’ first #1 hit. Other hits were released during this period, including “It’s the Same Old Song,” “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over)” and “Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.” “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” released in 1966, was the group’s biggest Motown hit. It could also be considered The Four Tops’ theme song, as it musically expressed the feelings of solidarity and brotherly love group members felt for one another. 9/28/2024 | Hello Farmers & Friends, We at Yuba Environmental Science Charter Academy and the Food & Water Festival are very excited to invite you to our YES Community Farmer Appreciation Dinner! This year, Yes Charter Academy received a USDA SCALES (Supporting Community Agriculture & Education Systems) grant which has afforded us the ability to grow our already flourishing garden program and, to hire on a Project Based Learning Health Educator & Facilitator. Some of our goals with this grant are to help bridge the gap between what kids see growing in our garden and what they see served on their plates. We will also be continuing to source more local produce from our local farmers and are working hard to create a local food hub right here at YES. Along the way we will also be taking time to celebrate and honor some of our local heroes. This month, we want to shine a light on the hard working folks who grow the food that feeds our community. Thanks to our local farmers we are able to offer our children organic/ethically grown, nutrient dense food, straight from the source. We would like to invite YOU help us in honoring the hard work of our local farmers with a meal prepared with local ingredients and the helping hands of the kids here at YES, as a way to say THANK YOU! more info... |
